Requirements
Our Outlook Web add-in makes it easy to install and send with ContactMonkey in weeks, not months. However, some customers may be unable to use the add-in for various reasons.
If the Web add-in isn’t available, integrating with ContactMonkey to send via your ContactMonkey dashboard may be perfect. To discuss using Dashboard Sending, please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager or reach out to support@contactmonkey.com.
To leverage this feature, you will need to:
- Discuss this with your ContactMonkey Customer Success Manager to ensure your plan has access to this feature.
- Complete the required integrations:
- Email at Scale: Email At Scale: Explained
- List Management: Introduction To List Management
Getting Started
To send emails directly through ContactMonkey, you will need to integrate a way to manage your lists and send the emails outside of Outlook. This will require some lift from your IT team.
Once integrated, your Customer Success Manager will enable Outlook Dashboard Sending on your account.
Create your email before sending it! Follow the instructions here on creating your email.
Sending and Scheduling an Email through the ContactMonkey Dashboard
ContactMonkey makes it easier to set your email cadences in advance by allowing you to create your email within the dashboard and then schedule the exact time for it to be sent out. To send an email immediately or schedule one within your ContactMonkey dashboard, follow these steps:
- Login to your ContactMonkey account
- Click Compose & Send in the top right corner.
- Select your Send From field option. Learn more about how emails populate in the Send From field below.
- Fill out your Send To field. There are two options: CSV upload and Contact Lists through List Management
- Choose one of the two possible Send At options:
- To send your email on the spot, choose Send Now.
- To schedule your email, choose Send Later. By clicking on the small calendar icon, you can choose the date you want to send, then the time in AM or PM.
- Enter your desired Subject line.
- Learn more about customizing your subject line. - Fill out your desired Preview Text in 140 characters or less. Preview text is a brief description of what's in your email, shown as a preview in the inbox of most major email clients next to the subject line. It's a good idea to include preview text as it captures your audiences' attention and generally leads to higher open rates.
- Click on Additional Settings on the right of Primary Settings to be taken to Tracking Options:
Choose between Individual or Anonymous tracking. - Ensure to choose if you want to Track Opens and/or Track Clicks Learn about how tracking opens and clicks works here.
- Choose an email from your library on the right-hand side of the page.
Tip: Choose the wrong one? Don’t worry, hovering over the email you choose, click Change to search through your library for a different email.
Adding Emails to the Send From Field
To add select emails to the Send From field, you must provide your Customer Success Manager with a complete list of email addresses you want included. A sample CSV is attached that you can fill out and send to your Customer Success Manager.
These will show up in your Send From choices and enable you or a team member to send emails from any one of the given addresses.
Please note that ContactMonkey cannot restrict other team members' usage of email addresses. Once an email address is added to your ‘Send From’ list, it becomes accessible for anyone on your team to send emails from.
Feel free to contact your Customer Success Manager or support@contactmonkey.com if you have any questions.
