If you integrated Microsoft Teams with ContactMonkey before July 31st, 2024, you are likely integrated via something called connectors in Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft has announced that connectors (what powers the integration between ContactMonkey and Microsoft Teams) will be retired in favor of workflows as of January 31st 2025, unless a small change is made. After this update to your connectors is made, you will be able to continue to use connectors through to December 2025.
Note: since Microsoft is retiring connectors in favor of workflows you actually have two options for how you may proceed with continuing to use your Microsoft Teams integration with ContactMonkey. The below instructions will focus on updating your connector URLs (if you wish to continue to use that method).
However, the last section in this article focuses on how you can transition away from connectors in favor of workflows. Your organization will have to transition to workflows by December 2025 to continue using the Microsoft Teams integration with ContactMonkey.
Please review the following information and take action as needed to avoid disruptions to your Microsoft Teams and ContactMonkey integration. To complete the below actions you will need access to a ContactMonkey Admin as well as access to edit/create connectors/webhooks in Microsoft Teams.
Steps to Update Connector URLs in Teams
1. In your Microsoft Teams account, click on the three dot icon next to a configured Teams channel and click More options.
2. From the list click Manage channel.
3. In the new window, click Settings, followed by Edit next to the Connectors section.
4. Click into the Configured sub-section under the MANAGE heading, and click Manage (above where it says Action required).
5. At the bottom of this window, click Update URL and copy the new webhook URL.
Steps to Update Connector URLs in ContactMonkey
You will need to complete the above steps for each Teams channel you currently have configured/integrated with ContactMonkey if you would like to keep the integration active beyond January 31st, 2025.
Once you have the updated URL for each configured channel, follow the below instructions to update each configured Teams channel.
1. As a ContactMonkey Admin, click into the Settings drop-down, followed by Integrations. Finally, click into Show Details under the Microsoft Teams tile on the Integrations page.
2. For each configured Teams channel you would like to update and continue to use beyond January 31st, 2025, swap out the existing webhook URL for the new and updated URL you updated in the previous steps in Teams. Important: ensure that you are copying the updated webhook URL from the same channel name as the channel you are updating in ContactMonkey. Once the webhook URLs are updated, click Save.
And that's it! Once you've updated the connector URLs, you should try pushing through a test email campaign to a configured Teams channel.
