Want your ContactMonkey email campaigns to truly shine on your SharePoint pages? Our integration offers super flexible customization options, so you can make those embedded emails blend seamlessly or pop with personality!
Why You Might Not See the New Features
If you've heard about our latest customization features but aren't seeing them in your SharePoint web part, it's because two important steps need to be completed by your administrators:
- Your SharePoint Administrator needs to update the ContactMonkey connector app.
- A ContactMonkey Admin or Owner needs to complete a crucial approval workflow.
It's crucial that the approval workflow is completed immediately after the app update, as your web parts may temporarily stop displaying content until this is done. While this is a one-time approval for existing sites, this same process will be needed each time you add the connector to a new SharePoint site.
For detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to update your app and complete the necessary approval workflow, please refer to our article: Integrating ContactMonkey & Microsoft SharePoint.
Prerequisites
To customize the ContactMonkey SharePoint web part, you must have Site Owner permissions on the specific SharePoint site where the web part you want to customize is embedded.
Important Note on Customization
Heads up! These customization options are applied per web part. There's no universal control to apply these settings across all ContactMonkey web parts in your SharePoint environment; each web part must be customized individually.
Key Customization Options
You can adjust the following aspects of your ContactMonkey SharePoint web part:
- Expanded Post Limit: Control how many email posts are displayed.
- Author Name Visibility: Choose whether to show or hide the sender's name.
- Custom Background Color: Select a background color that matches your SharePoint site's branding.
Step-by-Step Customization
Follow these steps to customize your ContactMonkey SharePoint web part:
-
Navigate to Your SharePoint Page: Go to the specific SharePoint page where a ContactMonkey connector is embedded.
-
Edit the Page: Click the "Edit Page" button (usually located in the top right corner of the page).
-
Select the ContactMonkey Web Part: Hover over the ContactMonkey web part until an edit icon (often a pencil or gear) appears. Click this icon to open the web part's settings.
- Make your selected changes, outlined below.
-
Save and Republish: After making your desired changes, save the web part settings and then publish the SharePoint page to apply the updates.
Expanded Post Limit
Inside the web part's settings, find the "Max Emails" option. This that controls how many posts are displayed within your web part.
You can now set this to show up to 20 posts! The default is 10, but you can reduce to 1 or expand to 20 if needed.
Why you'll love this: It's fantastic for keeping more of your internal content right there on the page, so your readers don't have to click away to see the latest updates.
Author Name Visibility Control
In the web part's settings, you'll see an option for "Hide Author".
Simply toggle this feature on or off. This lets you decide whether to show the author's name when you share emails or posts, or keep it consistent with your organization's brand.
Why you'll love this: It’s perfect if you prefer your communications to appear as coming from the organization as a whole, rather than an individual sender.
Custom Background Color Options
Look for "Custom Background Color Options" in the settings.
Just toggle this feature on.
You'll then get to pick from your SharePoint site’s own preset brand colors! This typically includes your:
- Primary – Your main brand color
- Secondary – A great supporting brand color
- Accent – For that extra pop of color
- White – Perfect for backgrounds or text contrast
- Black – Ideal for strong visual contrast or text
Why you'll love this: It makes it super easy to either make the web part stand out or seamlessly blend into your existing SharePoint page design, all while staying true to your brand.
