This article will show you all of the necessary steps for sending an email with ContactMonkey in Outlook 365. For more detailed instructions or to learn about more advanced sending options, please reach out to your dedicated account manager or support@contactmonkey.com.
1. Open a New Email
Open Outlook and click New Email to begin your communication.
2. Select ContactMonkey
Click the ContactMonkey icon in the Outlook ribbon to open your Add-in.
3. Specify the Sender
Select the sender of your communication. Sending from a shared mailbox?
4. Select the Recipients
Decide if you are sending to a distribution list or CSV file. The To field will act as a BCC so you can leave the CC and BCC fields empty.
5. Enter the Subject Line
The subject line is critical for your communication as this is how ContactMonkey categorizes your campaign analytics after you send.
6. Select Your Tracking Preferences
Decide on your tracking preferences. Learn more here.
7. Import from ContactMonkey
Locate your campaign from the Add-in and click the arrow insert symbol to the left of the title.
Can't see your campaign in the Add-in?
If the campaign you're trying to import wasn't created by you, try changing the filter drop-down from Created by me to Created by anyone or Not created by me. If you still can't find it, you may be searching for a template instead of a campaign. Learn about the difference here.
After your campaign is inserted, do not be alarmed if it doesn't appear exactly how it did in the ContactMonkey Email Builder - this is exactly how Outlook breaks up the coding of the template and is one of the main reasons to send with ContactMonkey.
8. Send a Test
Double check these elements in your test email:
- Sender: Check that it is coming from the right sender
- Format: Check if the email is formatted correctly
- Links: Check to see if all the links work
- Emoji & eNPS: Check if emoji reactions are working and are linked to the survey
9. Send & Track or Send Later
Decide on whether you wish to send the email out immediately or schedule the send for a later time and date. If you want to send right away, click on Send & Track in the Add-in.
