Understanding which links your audience engages with helps you optimize your email content. Click maps provide a visual heat map showing where readers click within your emails, making it easy to identify what resonates and where to place your most important content.
What Are Click Maps?
Click maps provide a heat map-style visualization of link clicks within your emails. This visual feedback shows you:
- Where readers are most active in your emails
- Which calls-to-action (CTAs) perform best
- Which links generate the most engagement
Data exclusions: Click maps do not track surveys, anchor links, or event links.
Availability: Click maps are available for all sent emails, regardless of which tracking type you select. You can only view click maps for emails you have permission to access.
Important: Click maps are only available for emails sent after June 2023. This feature is not available for Outlook Non-365 users.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I download my click map data?
Not at this time. However, you can take screenshots to compare click maps across different campaigns.
How quickly do clicks appear in my click map?
Clicks update almost instantly, typically within less than a second. Occasionally, there may be slight delays during periods of high activity, but this is rare.
Are clicks tracked per unique device?
Yes. Clicks are tracked on a per-device basis. If a recipient opens and clicks on both their laptop and phone, this counts as two unique clicks.
