Choosing Your Data Storage Location
The location where your data is stored can affect your legal and privacy requirements. This guide explains your options and helps you make the right choice for your organization.

Why Location Matters
Different regions have different privacy laws that may require your data to be stored in specific locations:
European Union (EU): The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets strict rules for protecting personal data and may require EU data to stay within EU borders.
Canada: The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs how organizations collect, use, and share personal information.
United States: Privacy laws vary by state and industry. For example, healthcare organizations must follow HIPAA rules, while California businesses may need to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Australia: The Privacy Act regulates how organizations handle personal information and requires transparent data practices.
