To assist our Support team in troubleshooting issues dealing with individual emails and their formats, there are times when we may need a copy of the email. This must be the original email the recipient received, NOT a forwarded copy.
In Microsoft Outlook (Windows) 2010/2013/2016/2019/365
Drag and Drop
- In Outlook, select a message to be saved and provided to ContactMonkey Support.
- Drag and drop the message into a folder or the desktop for the email to be saved as a .msg file at that location
Save the File Manually
- In Outlook, select a message to be saved and provided to ContactMonkey Support.
- Double-click and open the email message to be saved in .msg format.
- Click the File tab and then click Save As.
- Browse to the file location where the file will be saved to.
- Enter a name for the file in the File name field.
- Click the Save as Type drop-down menu and then select Outlook Message Format (*.msg).
- Click the Save button. The email message will be saved in .msg format.
For Microsoft Outlook 2011/2016 on Mac
Drag and Drop
- In Outlook, select a message to be saved and provided to ContactMonkey Support.
- Drag and drop the message into a folder or the desktop for the email to be saved as a .eml file at that location
Save the File Manually
- In Outlook, select a message to be saved and provided to ContactMonkey Support.
- Click the File tab and then click Save As (or use ⌘ Cmd + ↑ Shift + S)
- Click on the arrow down button in the Where field and browse to the file location where you want to save the file.
- Enter a name for the file in the Save As field.
- Leave the file type as the default Email Message.
- Click Save, and an .eml will be saved in the location chosen.
For Outlook OWA (outlook.office.com) 2011/2016 on Mac
- In Outlook, select a message to be saved and provided to ContactMonkey Support.
- In the window where the preview for the message is being displayed, click on the ellipses (...) and select Save As
- Save the .eml / .msg in the location of choice.
