What is List Management?
List Management lets you sync and manage contact lists directly in ContactMonkey. You can import contacts from external sources, add custom attributes (like department, location, or job title), and use those attributes to create targeted contact lists.

Setup Requirements
To get started with List Management:
- Internal communications customers: Contact your Customer Success Manager to enable the List Management add-on
- SMS customers: List Management is already enabled by default
- Determine your "source of truth" for contact data (typically maintained by IT or HR/People Operations)
Sync Options
Choose the method that works best for your organization:
Manual Sync
- CSV Upload - Upload a file containing your contacts manually
Automated Daily Sync
- Workday - Sync from Workday HRIS
- Azure AD - Sync from Microsoft Azure Active Directory
- API Integration - Sync from any HRIS supporting APIs (SuccessFactors, BambooHR, etc.)
What Data Can I Sync?
You can include any contact attributes you need, such as:
- Email addresses and phone numbers
- Names and employee IDs
- Physical addresses and countries
- Departments and job titles
- Business units and office locations
- Employment type and hire dates

- Generate dynamic lists using Advanced List Filtering
- Segment campaign analytics by group
- Personalize emails with Mail Merge Fields
Note: ContactMonkey supports field mapping, meaning field names will differ depending on your sync method (CSV, Azure, Workday, API). Each sync method has specific requirements for field names and formats.
