Why Images Are Blocked by Default
Outlook blocks images in emails from unknown senders as a security measure. Recipients must manually download them each time they open your email. This blocking prevents ContactMonkey from tracking email opens accurately because the tracking pixel (a small image) cannot load.
Enable Automatic Images for an Entire Domain (Recommended)
Use this method to allow images from all email addresses at a company (like @contactmonkey.com).
- Open an email in Outlook where images are blocked
- Right-click on any blocked image area
- Select Add the Domain @domain to Safe Senders List (replace "domain" with the actual domain name)
Images from all email addresses at this domain will now load automatically.
Enable Automatic Images for a Specific Sender
- Open an email in Outlook where images are blocked
- Right-click on any blocked image area
- Select Add Sender to Safe Senders List
Images from this email address will now load automatically in all future emails.
Troubleshooting: Domain Not Saving to Safe Senders List
If you add a domain to your Safe Senders list but images still don't load automatically, your organization's IT policies may be blocking the change.
- For employees: Contact your IT department and share this article with them. They can whitelist ContactMonkey at the organization level.
