Anchor links let recipients navigate to specific sections of your email with a single click. They're ideal for creating a clickable table of contents or navigation menus in longer emails.
Important: Anchor links are not available in multi-language emails.
Method 1: Using the Menu Content Block (Recommended)
- In the Email Builder, drag the Menu content block to the top of your email
- Click on the block to access its properties menu on the right
- Click ADD NEW ITEM
- Click the More options tab
- In the Text field, enter the menu item name (e.g., "Product Highlights")
- In the Url field, enter your anchor link:
#PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS- Use all capitals, no spaces
- Drag an HTML content block just above the destination section of your email
- Click on the block to open its properties menu
- Enter the following snippet:
<a name="XXX"></a><br />
9. Replace XXX with your link name (without the #, all capitals)
Example: If your menu link is #PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS, use:
<a name="PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS"></a><br />
10. Repeat Steps 3-5 for each menu item you want to add
Note: The HTML blocks won't be visible in the final version of your email.

Formatting Your Menu
In the properties menu, you can customize:
- Font type, size, and color
- Menu layout (horizontal or vertical)
Pro Tip: Use a vertical line separator between menu items for a clean look.
Method 2: Using Buttons or Hyperlinks
You can also create anchor links using individual buttons or hyperlinks instead of the Menu block.
Step 1: Add the Link to Your Clickable Element
For buttons:
- In the Email Builder, drag the Button content block to your desired position
- Click the content block to update the button's text and color
- In its properties menu on the right, enter your anchor link in the Url field
- Ex: "Product Highlights" =
#PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS - Use all capitals, no spaces
- Ex: "Product Highlights" =
For hyperlinks:
- Highlight the text you want to link
- Click the Insert/edit button in the text editor
- Enter your anchor link in the Url field
- Ex: "Product Highlights" =
#PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS - Use all capitals, no spaces
- Ex: "Product Highlights" =
- Set Target to None
- Click OK
Step 2: Mark the Destination Section
Now you need to mark where readers should land when they click the link.
- Drag an HTML content block into your email just above the destination section
- Open its property menu and enter the following snippet:
<a name="XXX"></a><br />
- Replace
XXXwith your link name, minus the #
Example: If your link is #PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS, use:
<a name="PRODUCTHIGHLIGHTS"></a><br />
Note: The HTML blocks won't be visible in the final version of your email.
