Table Structure and Layout
Adjusting Columns and Rows
- Columns: Add or remove columns (maximum of 8)
- Rows: Add or remove rows (no limit)
Important: If you're using 8 columns, expand your content width to ensure proper display.
Header Row Options
Toggle the Header row in the properties menu on or off to label your columns.
Note: Removing a header row deletes its formatting. You'll need to reapply styling if you add it back.
Background and Borders
- Set custom background colors for your table
- Choose border styles: solid, dotted, or dashed
- Customize border color and thickness
Tip: For dotted or dashed borders, use a thickness of 5 pixels or less for optimal appearance.
Visual Enhancements
Striped Rows
Create alternating row colors for better readability:
- Select your table
- Toggle on the Striped rows section in the properties menu
- Choose your alternating color (your background color will be the other alternating color)
Text Formatting
Customize all text within your table:
- Font family, weight, and size
- Text and link colors
- Alignment, line height, and letter spacing
- Text direction
Note: These formatting options apply to all text within the table.
Line Breaks
Create line breaks within a cell:
- Windows:
Ctrl+Shift+Enter - Mac:
Command+Enter
Mobile Optimization
Tables can be challenging on mobile devices. Follow these guidelines:
- Single-column tables: Enable Do not stack on mobile for better mobile display
- Multi-column tables: Test thoroughly in mobile preview
- Poor mobile display: Use the Hide on feature to create device-specific versions
Best Practices
- Keep it simple: Limit the number of columns for better readability
- Test across devices: Always preview your table on desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Border thickness: Stay at 5 pixels or below for dotted/dashed borders
- Content width: Expand content width when using many columns
