Your unique opens metric varies based on your selected tracking type:
- Individual tracking = unique opens per email address
- Overall tracking = unique opens per device
Individual Tracking: Unique Opens by Email Address
Individual tracking links each open to a recipient's email address. If someone opens your email three times, it counts as one unique open.
Benefits:

Overall Tracking: Unique Opens by Device
Overall tracking links each open to the device used rather than the email address. If a recipient opens your email on both their phone and laptop, it counts as two unique device opens.
Benefits:
- Fast delivery: all recipients receive the email within minutes
- Privacy-focused: all data is anonymous and not tied to individuals
- Ideal for high-level engagement metrics
Important considerations:
- Unique device opens can exceed your total recipient count
- No individual-level reporting available
- You cannot see which specific recipients engaged with your email
