The Content Calendar is your central hub for planning and tracking all your email communications and events within ContactMonkey. It's designed to give you a clear, unified view of all your sent and scheduled emails and events, helping you streamline your content workflow and ensure timely, relevant messages reach your audience.
How the Content Calendar Works
The content calendar offers an organized and interactive overview of your communications. Here's what you'll find and how to use it:
- See Both Your Emails & Events: The calendar displays both your email communications and events, providing a comprehensive overview of all your content.
- See All Your Team's Content: When you access the calendar from the top navigation, you'll see all email and event entries for the team you're currently viewing. If you switch teams, the calendar will update to reflect that team's content.
- Easy-to-Understand Entries with Quick Details Popover: Each entry on the calendar represents a sent or scheduled email or an event. You'll see the title and the date and time it was sent, is scheduled, or is happening. You can click any block for instant info like sender, recipients, and tags, providing quick context without leaving the calendar.
- Automatic Updates: The calendar automatically generates entries when an email is scheduled or sent or an event is created. If you cancel or change a scheduled email or event, the calendar updates in real time to reflect those changes.
- Fixed Time Blocks: All entries on the calendar are displayed in a standard 1-hour time block.
- Flexible Views: You can switch between Week, Month, and Day views to see your content at different levels of detail. Starting on Monday, the default view is the Week view.
- Direct Management (Emails): You can drag and drop, manually reschedule, or cancel emails directly from the calendar, giving you more control over your content flow.
Streamlined Workflow
The Content Calendar helps you navigate directly to your content for further management:
- Click an email title to go straight to its Campaign Overview.
- Click an event to jump directly to its Events page for editing.
Smart Filtering
Easily focus your view with new filtering options:
- Filter by Scheduled/Sent Email to see only your email communications.
- Filter by Draft/Live Events to focus on your event schedule.
Important Things to Know About the Content Calendar
- Automatic Generation Only: While you can manage entries directly now, entries are primarily created automatically when an email is sent/scheduled or an event is created.
- No Manual Event Creation/Editing (Directly on Calendar): You cannot manually add or edit event details directly within the calendar view; you'll be directed to the Events page for these actions.
Exporting and Sharing Your Content Calendar
Exporting your Content Calendar data is a powerful way to share your email and event schedule and track progress. This functionality is available directly within the calendar interface and allows for seamless sharing of your content schedule with team members and external stakeholders.
-
Export Options: Easily export your calendar data to CSV. You can export your content calendar data as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This file will contain basic information about each email and event entry, such as the title, type, start date, end date, and location.
-
View-Specific Export: The export will reflect the specific calendar view you are currently using.
- If you are in the Day view, only the content scheduled or sent on that particular day will be included in the CSV.
- If you are in the Week view, all content within that week will be exported.
- For a broader export of your content data, switch to the Month view before exporting to capture a wider range of scheduled and sent emails and events.
