Use the Appspace content block in the ContactMonkey Email Builder to insert an Appspace Story directly into your email. This guide covers the setup requirements, step-by-step instructions, and troubleshooting tips.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Appspace integration enabled for your workspace by a ContactMonkey Administrator
- An Appspace account with access to the Story you want to insert
If you don't have these prerequisites, contact your Administrator to request access.
Insert a Story
Follow these steps to add an Appspace Story to your email:
- Open or create an email draft in the ContactMonkey Email Builder
- In the properties menu on the right, drag the Appspace content block to the location where you would like your Story to appear in your email
- Confirm the connected Appspace account if prompted
- If you see a sign-in or permission prompt, contact your ContactMonkey Admin to complete the integration or grant access to the relevant Appspace channel
- Browse or search your Appspace content and select your desired Story
- Use the properties menu to further configure your Story's appearance
- Use Preview and Send test to verify the Story renders correctly.

Tips for Best Results
- Choose Stories with concise titles and summaries for better readability and scannability
- Place the Story above the fold to ensure visibility on mobile devices
- Use one Story per section to avoid visual clutter and maintain a clean email layout
- Test your email on multiple devices before sending to verify that the Story displays correctly
Troubleshooting
Problem: Story not appearing in the content picker
Solution: Confirm you have access to that Story in Appspace. Ask your Admin to grant access or use a Service Account with the appropriate permissions.
Problem: Appspace content block missing from the Email Builder
Solution: The Appspace integration is not enabled for your workspace. Contact ContactMonkey Technical Support or your Customer Success Manager to enable the integration.
Problem: Can't see a list of Stories or feeds
Solution: If you see an error message, your API keys are either incorrect or missing. Contact your admin to verify the integration credentials.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I insert multiple Stories in one email?
Yes, add multiple Appspace content blocks to your email and select a different Story for each block.
Can I customize the Story's text after inserting it?
Yes, you can edit the title and description within your email after insertion. Changes made in your email will not be reflected in the original Appspace Story.
Do I need my own Appspace login?
Your admin may connect a Service Account so you don't need individual credentials. If you're prompted to sign in, contact your admin to set up proper access.
