This article explains why the Email Builder's default social icons sometimes fail to load and how to upload your own custom social icons as a reliable workaround.
Why Your Default Social Icons Aren't Loading
The Email Builder's default social icons are hosted at app-rsrc.getbee.io. If your IT team has not added this domain to your organization's trusted URLs, the icons cannot load and will appear blank or missing in your email.
There are two ways to fix this: have IT allowlist the domain (recommended) or upload your own custom icons.
Recommended Fix: Add the Icon Domain to Trusted URLs
Ask your IT team to add https://app-rsrc.getbee.io/ to your trusted URLs. This is the exact domain the Email Builder uses to serve default social icons. Once it is added, the default icons load automatically, and no workaround is needed.
Workaround: Upload Custom Social Icons
If allowlisting the domain isn't an option, you can upload your own icon images instead.
First, download the icons you need. The links below cover the four most common social media platforms. To find icons for any other platform, search <social media platform> brand assets online and use the platform's official brand resources.
Important: Only download and use icons you are licensed to use, and follow each platform's brand guidelines for color, spacing, and proper usage.
Once your icon files are saved, add them to your email:
- In the Email Builder, insert the Social content block into your email body
- Select the block to open its properties menu
- Click Add new icon
- Click Add Custom icon
- Click Change image
- Upload your downloaded logo
- Click Insert
- Enter a title, alt text, and the destination URL for that social account
- Repeat steps 3–8 for every additional social icon you want to add
- Delete the default social icons so only your custom icons remain

Troubleshooting
Problem: The uploaded icon looks oversized or stretched.
Solution: Resize the image before uploading so all icons share the same dimensions (square icons around 32–64px work well), then re-upload.
Problem: Clicking the icon doesn't open the social page.
Solution: Confirm you entered the full destination address in the URL field, including https://.
Problem: The default icons still appear alongside your custom ones.
Solution: Delete each default icon individually in the properties menu (step 10).
