Command Palette is a keyboard-first tool that lets you quickly navigate to any page or action in ContactMonkey without clicking through menus. More importantly, you can start creating a new email from anywhere in the app — no need to navigate to the Emails tab first. Press Ctrl + K (Windows) or Cmd + K (Mac), type what you want, and go.
Open Command Palette
Press Ctrl + K on Windows or Cmd + K on Mac to open the Command Palette modal.
A search box will appear at the top of your screen with a list of all available pages and actions below it.
Note: If nothing appears when you press the keyboard shortcut, check that your browser isn't intercepting the key combination. Some browser extensions or settings can override keyboard shortcuts.
Search and Navigate
Once Command Palette is open:
- Scroll or start typing the name of the page or action you want in the search bar (e.g., "dashboard," "create email," "reports")
- The list updates in real-time as you type in the search bar
- Use the arrow keys to move up and down through the results
- Press Enter to jump to your selection
- Press Escape at any time to close Command Palette without navigating
Tip: You don't need to type the full name. Typing "cal" will find Calendar, "dash" will find Dashboard, and "new" will find Create new email.

Common Workflows
Create a new email from anywhere Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K), type "create," select "Create new email," press Enter. No need to navigate to the Emails tab first.
Jump to Calendar from Email Library Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K), type "cal," press Enter.
Go to Dashboard Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K), type "dash," press Enter.
Access Reports Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K), type "reports," press Enter.
Access Account Settings Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K), type "settings," press Enter.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The keyboard shortcut doesn't open Command Palette.
Solution: Check your browser or application settings. Some keyboard shortcuts may be intercepted by your browser, operating system, or other applications. Try reloading the page or restarting your browser. If the issue persists, contact support@contactmonkey.com.
Problem: I don't see the action I'm looking for in the results.
Solution: Command Palette shows all main actions and pages available in your account. If you can't find something, it may not be available yet or may be located in a settings menu. Use the standard navigation menu as an alternative, or contact support@contactmonkey.com if you believe an action is missing.
Problem: The search results are too many, and I can't find what I need.
Solution: Be more specific with your search term in the search bar. Instead of "email," try "create email" or "email library." The more specific your search term, the faster Command Palette will narrow the results.
