Add your dedicated ContactMonkey IP address to Microsoft 365 Defender to ensure Email At Scale messages reach employee inboxes. This configuration allows emails from ContactMonkey to bypass spam filtering while still passing through Microsoft's security protocols.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Admin access: Exchange Administrator or Security Administrator permissions in Microsoft 365
- ContactMonkey IP address: Your dedicated IP provided by the ContactMonkey Technical Support team during Email At Scale implementation
Configure the Allow List
Follow these steps to add the ContactMonkey IP to your connection filter policy:
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Defender portal at https://security.microsoft.com/
- In the left navigation menu, expand Email & collaboration
- Select Policies & rules
- Click Threat policies
- Under the Policies section, click Anti-spam
- Select Connection filter policy (Default) to open the side panel
- Click Edit connection filter policy
- In the IP Allow List section, add your dedicated ContactMonkey IP address
- Click Save to apply the changes
Verify Configuration
After adding the IP address, test email delivery by sending a small Email At Scale campaign. Messages should arrive in recipient inboxes within a few minutes.
Troubleshooting
Emails still going to spam or quarantine?
- Verify the IP address was entered correctly with no extra spaces
- Check that the connection filter policy is set as the default policy
- Allow 10-15 minutes for the policy changes to propagate across Microsoft's servers
- Contact the ContactMonkey Technical Support team to confirm the correct IP address
