Keeping Windows updated ensures ContactMonkey runs smoothly and maintains compatibility with Outlook. Outdated Windows versions may cause performance issues or prevent the Add-in from functioning properly.
Before You Begin
- Connect your device to a power source or ensure it's fully charged
- Save all open work—updates may restart your computer
- Allow 30-60 minutes for the update to complete
- Back up important data using OneDrive (recommended)
Update Windows
For Windows 10 and 11
- Click the Windows button on your keyboard
- Click Settings → Windows Update
- Click Check for updates
- If updates are available, click Download and install
- Keep your device powered on until the update completes
For Windows 7, 8, and 8.1
- Click the Windows button on your keyboard
- Click Settings → Update and Security → Windows Update
- Click Check for updates
- If updates are available, follow the on-screen instructions
- Keep your device powered on until the update completes
If You Don't See Update Options
Your organization may manage Windows updates centrally. Contact your IT department to:
- Check your current Windows version
- Request system updates
- Verify ContactMonkey system requirements
