If your recipients see extra buttons at the bottom of emails when viewing on mobile devices (especially iPhones), this is a known issue with older versions of the ContactMonkey Outlook Non-365 Add-in. Update to version 1.7.7.66 or later to resolve this immediately.
What You'll See
Recipients viewing your email on mobile devices report seeing:
- The original call-to-action button in the email body
- An identical button image at the bottom of the email
- Multiple "attachments" that look like your CTA buttons
Why This Happens
Older versions of the Outlook Non-365 dd-in convert button elements into image attachments when sending emails. Mobile email clients (particularly iOS Mail) automatically display these image attachments at the bottom of messages, creating the appearance of duplicate buttons.
The buttons aren't actually duplicated in your email codeāthe mobile app is simply showing the button image attachments alongside the original HTML buttons.
How to Fix This
Update your ContactMonkey Add-in to version 1.7.7.66 or later:
- Quit the Outlook app if you have it open
- Visit the ContactMonkey Add-in installation page
- Click Non Office 365 to start the download
- Run the installer
- Reopen Outlook and send a test email
- Check the email on a mobile device to confirm the issue is resolved
Check Your Current Version
- In Outlook, click the ContactMonkey tab above the ribbon
- Look for the version number displayed in the tab

Temporary Workaround
If you cannot update immediately but need to send emails right away:
Replace buttons with text hyperlinks in your email template. Text links won't be converted to image attachments and won't appear duplicated on mobile devices.
