Add your dedicated ContactMonkey IP address to your Gmail email allowlist so SendGrid campaigns reach employee inboxes instead of spam. Campaigns are sent from your own domain but originate from an external IP address, which Gmail's spam filters may treat as suspicious.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Admin access: The Gmail Settings administrator privilege in the Google Admin console (Super Administrators have this by default)
- ContactMonkey IP address: Your dedicated IP provided by the ContactMonkey Technical Support team during SendGrid implementation
- Domain authentication complete: Your SPF and DKIM records added to your DNS provider, as supplied by ContactMonkey Technical Support
Configure the Allowlist
Follow these steps to allowlist the sending IP address:
- Sign in to the Google Admin console
- Go to Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Spam, Phishing and Malware
- On the left, select your top-level organization
- Scroll to the Email allowlist setting and click Edit
- Enter your dedicated ContactMonkey IP address
- Click Save
Troubleshooting
Emails are still going to spam.
- Verify the IP address was entered correctly with no extra spaces
- Confirm the setting was saved at the top-level organization, not a sub-organization
- Allow up to 24 hours for the change to take effect
- Confirm your SPF and DKIM records are in place with your DNS provider
- Contact support@contactmonkey.com to confirm the correct IP address
