Survey Insights reads the comments on a reusable survey and turns them into themes, sentiment, and a summary, shown alongside the survey's scores and response rates. Click Analyze Results on the survey's page, and the answer appears in Insights Assistant, where you can ask follow-up questions.
Survey Insights works with reusable surveys only. Single use surveys aren't supported yet. See Survey Overview: Reusable vs Single Use Surveys to check which type you're using.
Prerequsities
- A plan that includes Insights Assistant (all plans except Essential)
- Insights Assistant turned on by an Admin — see Using Insights Assistant to Explore Your Analytics for how to enable it
Analyzing a Survey’s Results
- Click Surveys at the top of your dashboard
- Select the reusable survey you want to analyze
- Click the Analyze Results card next to the survey's stats
Insights Assistant opens and asks "Analyze the results of this survey" for you, so there's nothing to type. Most analyses finish in a few seconds. Surveys with a large number of comments can take a few minutes.

What the Analysis Includes
The answer is kept short enough to read in the side panel, in this order:
- Headline: how the survey landed, using the figure that fits the survey type (for example, the share of top ratings, the percent positive, the leading poll option, or the eNPS score), plus the most important caveat, such as a low response rate.
- What stands out: up to two points the page doesn't already show, such as the best or worst send.
- What people are saying: how many comments are positive, neutral, and negative, then the main themes with each theme's share of comments and a short quote.
- Next step: one suggested action based on the results.
- Ask me next: three follow-up questions you can click to continue.
A survey with no comments still gets the score summary, without themes or sentiment.
Follow-up Questions to Ask the Assistant
Ask in plain language in the same conversation, or click Insights Assistant on the survey's page to start a new one about that survey. For example:
- "What are the main themes in the comments?"
- "Dig into [theme name]."
- "Which sends had the lowest scores?"
- "What should I ask in my next pulse survey?"
- "Summarize these results for my leadership update."
Survey Insights and Recipient Anonymity
Survey Insights doesn't change how anonymity works: comments are never linked to a specific person. Only the comment text and its language are sent to the AI model. Names, email addresses, and scores are not.
Theme counts cover the whole survey, but you only see quotes and comments from emails you have permission to view.
Troubleshooting Survey Insights
Problem: I don't see the Analyze Results card.
Solution: Check that you opened the survey from the Surveys section of your dashboard. The card doesn't appear on an email's Surveys tab or for single-use surveys. Also check that Insights Assistant is turned on for your organization, that your plan includes it, and that the survey has been sent.
Problem: The Analyze Results card is greyed out.
Solution: The survey has no comments yet, or an Admin has turned off Insights Assistant. You can still ask Insights Assistant about the survey's scores.
Problem: "This analysis is taking longer than usual."
Solution: Wait a few minutes, then click Analyze Results again. The analysis keeps running in the background.
Survey Insights Limitations
- Answer questions about a survey from the Home or Analytics tabs. Start from the survey's own page.
- Analyze single-use surveys.
- Compare a survey with other surveys, or break results down by department or location.
- Send, post, or share anything on your behalf.
