Once you've created an event, you need to embed it into an email campaign to make it available to recipients. This article shows you how to add an existing event to your email.

Embedding Your Event
- Ensure you've created a new event within the Events tab of your dashboard.
- In the Email Builder, drag the Events content block into your email layout
- Click Embed an event to browse your draft events
- Click on the event you want to include in this campaign
- Customize the RSVP button appearance to match your email design (color, text, style):
Event Status After Sending
Draft
Your event remains in draft mode until you send the email to recipients. Draft events can still be edited.
Live
Once you send the email campaign, the event can no longer be edited. Recipients can begin registering immediately.
⚠️ Important: If you send a test email to yourself using the Send Test button, the event will remain in draft mode. The RSVP button in test emails will redirect to the ContactMonkey homepage instead of the registration page. This is expected behavior—the event will function correctly once you send the actual campaign.
Recipient Experience
When recipients click the RSVP button in their email, they'll be directed to a landing page where they can:
- View full event details
- Complete the registration form
- Submit their RSVP
- Add the event to their calendar
