ContactMonkey does not support sending emails to Outlook contact groups. Use distribution lists, CSV uploads, or ContactMonkey contact lists instead.
Note: Outlook contact groups are different from List Management contact lists. The latter works seamlessly with all ContactMonkey features.
Why Contact Groups Don't Work
ContactMonkey requires all recipients in the To field to have an email address. Contact groups don't have an email address—they're just containers for other email addresses. When you add a contact group to the To field, ContactMonkey cannot process it.
If you try to count recipients or send to a contact group, you'll see this error message:
We have detected one or more contact groups in the "To" field. Please expand the Group manually by clicking on the next to the Group name and try again.
These errors occur with all tracking options (Overall, Anonymous, and Individual).
