If you've accidentally deleted a contact from your ContactMonkey directory, you can recover it yourself without contacting Support. The Recover Contacts feature allows you to restore any manually deleted contact with all of its original information intact.
Prerequisites
- Owner or Admin role in ContactMonkey
- List Management feature enabled on your account
How to Recover Deleted Contacts
- Click Directory at the top of your ContactMonkey dashboard
- Click the Recover Contacts button located to the left of Filters
- In the modal, click Recover next to the contact you want to restore
- The contact will be automatically re-inserted into your directory table with all of its original information

Note: You can only recover one contact at a time. If you need to recover multiple contacts, repeat the process for each one.
Important Information
All deleted contacts are archived. There is no time limit for recovering a contact—you can restore contacts that were deleted weeks, months, or even years ago.
Only Owners and Admins can recover contacts. If you don't see the Recover Contacts button, check with an Admin about your user role permissions.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The contact I'm looking for isn't in the modal
Solution: The Recover Contacts feature only shows contacts that were manually deleted from the Directory. If a contact was removed through other means (i.e., integration sync), it won't appear in this list.
Problem: I recovered a contact, but it's not appearing in my directory
Solution: Try refreshing the page. If the contact still doesn't appear, check your active filters—the contact may be filtered out of your current view.
