If you see a persistent red notification badge on the chat widget, you can clear it by viewing previous chat messages that haven't been dismissed.
Why the Notification Appears
The notification badge appears when messages from previous chats remain unread. This commonly happens when ContactMonkey Support follows up after resolving your issue—for example, when you receive a message asking you to rate the quality of your chat experience. Until you open and view these messages, the notification will continue to display.
How to Clear the Notification
Follow these steps to remove the notification badge:
- Click the chat widget at the bottom left of your ContactMonkey dashboard
- Click the back arrow to view your chat history
- Open any conversations that show a notification badge beside them
- View the unread messages in each conversation
