ContactMonkey offers two File Manager options that you can toggle between: My Files for individual work and Team Files for collaborative work. Enable this toggle feature in your account settings.
My Files
Best for: Individual users who work independently on email content
Files uploaded here will appear across all team environments you are assigned to.
Key benefits:
- Private, personal file library
- Complete control over your uploads and access permissions
- Ideal for personal assets and work-in-progress materials
When to choose My Files:
- You work primarily alone on email campaigns
- You need a private workspace for draft materials
- You want exclusive control over file access
Team Files
Best for: Teams working collaboratively on shared content
Files uploaded here are team-scoped, meaning they are only accessible within the specific team they were uploaded to.
Key benefits:
- Shared library accessible by all team members
- Eliminates duplicate uploads across team members
- Centralized storage for brand assets
When to choose Team Files:
- You collaborate frequently with teammates
- You need to share company logos, headers, footers, or brand assets
- You want to avoid duplicate file uploads across your team
How to Enable/Disable File Manager Toggle
- Click your name at the top right of your dashboard
- Click Settings
- Click Email Settings
- Scroll down to the File Manager section

Disabling Team FilesĀ
- The Team Files tab disappears, and users will no longer have access to those assets
- Users can only see and access assets in their My Files section
- Assets in Team Files will not be merged anywhere and will become available again when the toggle is turned on
