This article provides steps on permanently removing a List Management integration source and deleting all employee contact data associated with it from your ContactMonkey directory.
Prerequisites
- You must have an Owner or Administrator role in ContactMonkey
- The integration tile must be in an Active state before deletion is available
What Happens When You Delete an Integration
Deleting an integration removes every contact that came from that source from your ContactMonkey directory. No employee fields or data from the deleted source will remain.
If a contact also exists in another source (such as a CSV upload), that contact is not fully removed. The contact stays in your directory, but any fields that came exclusively from the deleted integration are removed. Only data from the remaining source is kept.
Note: This behaviour is different from deleting a CSV. Deleting an integration source is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you want to remove this data before confirming.
How to Delete an Integration
- In the ContactMonkey dashboard, click Directory
- Click Sources
- Locate the integration tile you want to remove (Azure AD, Workday, or your HRIS API source)
- Click the trash icon on the integration tile
- Review the confirmation prompt, then click Confirm to proceed
The tile will immediately update to show a yellow status indicator and the label Deletion in progress. This means ContactMonkey is actively removing all contacts and fields from that source.

Confirm the Deletion Is Complete
Deletion is complete when the integration tile returns to an Inactive state and the yellow indicator disappears. You will also receive a confirmation email when the process has finished.
The time required depends on the number of contacts in the source. Most deletions are completed within a few minutes.
