Using AI Link Check with ConfidenceCheck

AI Link Check automatically scans every link in your email and flags broken, empty, or mismatched URLs before you hit send. Use it to catch link issues that manual review often misses, especially in long newsletters or templates with reused content.

Prerequisites

Note: If ContactMonkey AI is toggled off, ConfidenceCheck runs Basic Link Check instead, which lists links for manual review but does not validate them.

What AI Link Check Detects

AI Link Check reviews every link in your draft, including button links, hyperlinked text, and image links. It flags four types of issues:
  • Broken or unreachable links — The destination URL returns an error or cannot be loaded
  • Empty or placeholder URLs — The link points to nothing, or to a value like #, http://, or a leftover template URL
  • Anchor text and destination mismatches — The link text describes a different destination than the URL leads to (for example, anchor text reads "2026 Benefits Guide" but the URL points to last year's document)
  • Missing links — Text that suggests a link should exist (such as "click here") but has no URL attached

How to Run AI Link Check

  1. Open your email in the Email Builder
  2. Click the glasses (👓) icon at the top right
  3. Click the play button beside Links
  4. Once the check is complete, click the chevron (›) to expand the results
  5. Review each flagged link — click any warning to jump directly to that link in your draft

Acting on a Warning

  1. Click the warning in the Links panel — the corresponding link is highlighted in your email
  2. Edit the link to fix the URL, update the anchor text, or remove the link entirely
  3. Click Run check again to confirm the warning is cleared

Troubleshooting

A link is flagged as broken, but it works when opened in a browser.
The URL may already be wrapped by Microsoft SafeLinks or another security tool. Replace it with the original (unwrapped) URL and rerun the check.

The check takes longer than expected to complete.
Long emails or emails with Dynamic Content/Multi-Language enabled can take up to 90 seconds. Wait for the check to finish before editing.

An anchor-versus-destination mismatch is flagged, but the wording is intentional.
Confirm the destination is correct and send. AI Link Check warnings are advisory and do not block sending.
