The Email Builder Preview gives you an approximate view of your email, not a pixel-accurate copy of how it renders in any specific email client. Preview does not emulate Gmail, Apple Mail, or Outlook individually, so what you see in Preview can differ from what a recipient sees in their inbox.
What does the Preview show?
Preview shows a close approximation of your email based on the HTML in the builder. Use it to check layout, content blocks, images, and links before you send.
To open it, click Preview in the top-right corner of the Email Builder. Click the crescent moon icon to see an approximate dark-mode rendering. Tablet and mobile views are also available.

Why does the Preview differ from a recipient's email client?
Each email client renders HTML with its own engine, and dark mode adds further variation. Email clients convert emails to dark mode by applying scripts that invert or override colors, and these scripts vary significantly between Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, and others.
Because of this, the Preview is designed to give a general sense of how your email might appear, not to replicate any one client exactly. Differences in fonts, spacing, background colors, and dark-mode color inversion are expected.
How do I confirm how my email looks in a specific client?
Send a test email to real accounts in the clients your recipients use. This is the only reliable way to see client-accurate rendering.
- Send the email to your own address in each target client (for example, Outlook desktop, Gmail web, Apple Mail)
- Open each test in both light mode and dark mode
- Review images, buttons, background colors, and text contrast
- Adjust the design in the Email Builder, then re-test
A third-party rendering tool can supplement testing, but a real test send to the actual client remains the most accurate check.
