ContactMonkey allows you to recover accidentally deleted campaigns, but the recovery method depends on where the campaign was deleted from and whether you use Outlook or Gmail.
Recovering Campaigns Deleted from the Sent Folder
Contact support@contactmonkey.com to recover campaigns deleted from your ContactMonkey Sent folder. The Support team will restore both the campaign and its reporting data.
You'll need to provide your campaign ID, a unique 7-digit number that identifies your email. You can find it in the success email you received from ContactMonkey after sending.
Recovering Campaigns Deleted from Email Library (Outlook Only)
Campaigns deleted from the email library cannot be directly restored. However, you can recreate them using the HTML download method:
- Click Emails at the top of the ContactMonkey dashboard
- Click Sent and select your deleted campaign
- Click View Email
- Click Download HTML
- Open Outlook and create a new message
- Open the ContactMonkey Add-in
- Click the up arrow icon
- Browse and select the HTML file you downloaded

The campaign will be inserted into your email body for you to send. Please note that this method only works if the email has been sent before.
Important Notes
Templates are not affected: Deleting a campaign does not delete any templates used to create it. Your templates remain safe in the Templates section of the ContactMonkey dashboard.
Template deletion is permanent: If you delete a template from the Templates section, it cannot be recovered. Click here for more information.
Gmail limitation: Gmail users cannot use the HTML recovery method.
