Frequently Asked Questions
Will recipients see that I changed the link?
No. The redirect happens behind the scenes. Recipients land on the updated page with no visible indication of a change.
Can I update a link that people have already clicked?
Yes. Your update only affects future clicks. Past click data remains unchanged in your reports.
What if I archived or deleted the email?
You cannot edit links in archived or deleted emails. Only active emails support post-send updates.
Why can't I update a plain text URL?
Plain text URLs aren't tracked by ContactMonkey's redirect system. Only hyperlinked text, buttons, and image links can be updated. Click here to learn how to create editable links.
Why am I receiving an error while editing a link?
Ensure there are no spaces before, inside of, or after the new destination URL, as these aren't an acceptable link format. If spaces are necessary in the URL, replace them with a %20 value so the link can be accepted.
