Segmented Email Stats allow you to analyze campaign performance by specific recipient attributes like department, location, or job title. This feature adds a Segmented Email Stats tab to your Campaign Overview page, displaying filtered analytics based on your Directory fields.
Before You Start
Required permissions:
- Owner or Administrator role
Required products:
- Office 365 or Gmail
- List Management
- Individual or Anonymous tracking (this feature does not work with Overall tracking)
Privacy note for Anonymous tracking: If a segment contains fewer than 10 recipients, no stats display for that segment. This protects recipient anonymity by preventing identification through small sample sizes.
Setup Steps
1. Access Your Directory
Click Directory at the top of your ContactMonkey dashboard.
2. Upload Your Contact Data
Click the Sources tab and choose one of these methods to add contacts and their attributes:
Option A: Upload a CSV file
- Your CSV must include an
Emailcolumn plus any attributes you want to segment by (e.g.,Department,Location,Job Title) - Click here for detailed CSV formatting requirements
Option B: Connect Azure Active Directory
- Map your Azure AD fields to ContactMonkey during the sync configuration

3. Send with Individual or Anonymous Tracking
Segmented Email Stats only appear when you send campaigns with Individual or Anonymous tracking. Select your tracking option when composing your email. Learn more here.
Customize Your Segment Fields
The attributes you upload become your segment filters. To change which fields appear in Segmented Email Stats:
For CSV uploads:
- Add or remove columns from your CSV file before uploading
- Ensure column headers match your desired segment names exactly
For Azure AD or HRIS syncs:
- Adjust field mappings during the sync configuration
- Include only the fields you'll use for segmentation and reporting
Recommended fields:
- Department
- Location/Office
- Job Title
- Employment Status
- Seniority Level
