If your organization has the Mail tool, you must switch to the SMS view first by clicking your name at the top right of the dashboard and selecting Switch to SMS.

- Click Compose & Send at the top of the ContactMonkey dashboard
- Enter your campaign details:
- SMS Name: Create a name to identify this campaign in your Analytics tab
-
Recipients: Choose how to add recipients:
- Select an existing contact list from the dropdown menu (learn how to save contact lists)
- Click the CSV icon to upload a file (see CSV formatting best practices)
- Type your message in the Message field
- Review your message in the Preview panel to see how it appears on recipient devices
- Click Send
ContactMonkey automatically tracks click rates for all links included in your message.
Important Notes
Using Existing Contact Lists
When you select a contact list, ContactMonkey displays how many recipients have properly formatted phone numbers and can receive the SMS.
Uploading CSV Files
Phone numbers in uploaded CSV files must include the country code and area code. ContactMonkey adds the + symbol automatically, but cannot deliver messages without the complete number format.
Updating Contact Information
If recipients are missing phone numbers or numbers are incorrectly formatted, update your contact directory. Follow the instructions that match your directory sync method in our updating contacts guide.
