| The Reports tab is now called Analytics in the top navigation. This article uses the new Analytics label; the dashboard and its data work the same way you're used to. |

Who Can Access Analytics
Reporting is available for all plan levels. Your user role determines what data you can view:
- Basic User: View, save, download, edit, and delete reports for your own emails only. Create saved reports for yourself only.
- Manager: View, edit, and download email performance data for all users on your team.
- Administrator or Owner: View, edit, and download reports for all teams and users in your organization.
Accessing the Analytics Dashboard
- Click Analytics at the top of your ContactMonkey dashboard
- You'll see three main tabs:
- Dashboards — View your campaign stats, engagement distribution timeline, and recent campaigns
- Reports — View your saved custom reports
- Report Builder — Create and download new custom reports
Understanding the Report Builder Table
The Report Builder table displays performance data for your sent emails. You can customize what information appears by adding or removing columns, filter directly from the column headers, and select campaigns to chart or export.
Default Columns
These columns appear automatically when you open Email Analytics:
- Subject
- Sent Date
- Recipient Count
- Sending Type
- Tracking Type
- Tags
- Open Rate
- Click Rate
Managing Columns
Click the three-dot menu next to any column title to access the following options:
- Pin column left/right
- Autosize
- Reset columns to default
Adding or Removing Columns
Click the Columns menu on the far right of the screen to customize your view. Toggle columns on or off based on what metrics you need.

Available Metrics and Columns
Metrics are organized into related categories:
- Email Summary
- Opens/Clicks
- Read Time
- Audience Engagement
- Social Channels
- Dynamic Content
Filtering Your Data
Each column now has a filter directly beneath its header — no separate filters sidebar. Type or select a value under a column heading to filter instantly. Filters run server-side, so they apply across your complete dataset, not just the rows currently loaded on screen.
- Text columns (Subject, Sent By, Sent From): type-ahead search
- Number columns (Recipient Count, Open Rate, and more): numeric comparisons (for example, greater than 10)
- Set columns (Sending Type, Tracking Type, Tags): dropdown selection
- Sent Date: date picker with built-in relative options — Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Month, Last Month, and This Year
💡 To filter by a metric, that metric's column must be displayed in the table. Use the Columns menu to turn it on first.

Selecting Campaigns and Creating Charts
You can now visualize performance without leaving ContactMonkey. There are two ways to select the data you want to chart:
- Row selection: Apply your filters, then use the checkboxes on the left to select individual campaigns. The header checkbox selects or deselects the current page, and the status bar at the bottom shows how many rows are selected.
- Drag to select: Click and drag across cells to highlight a range of data. When you select a range of numeric cells, the status bar shows quick calculations (Sum, Average, Min, Max, and Count).
