Understanding the recipient experience helps you set proper expectations and troubleshoot response issues.
How Recipients Interact with Surveys
Reusable Surveys
- Recipients click the survey button in the email
- They are redirected to the survey landing page
- They can submit responses and optional comments
- They receive a confirmation after their submission
Single Use Surveys
- Recipients interact directly within the email
- Responses are processed in real-time
Response Editing Window
Recipients can modify their responses within 3 hours of their initial submission.
Example Timeline:
- Response submitted: 9:00 AM ET
- Editing allowed: 9:00 AM - 11:59 AM ET
- Editing expires: 12:00 PM ET (noon)
This applies to both reusable and single use surveys.
Survey Link Expiration
Reusable Survey Links:
- Remain active for 90 days from the send date
- Expiration applies to the email link, not the survey content
- After expiration, responses will only be accepted through new email campaigns
Important: Links expire based on when the email was sent, not when the survey was created.
